For WordCamp the Netherlands we are looking for speakers! This year, #WCNL will take place on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 September in Burgers’ Zoo in Arnhem. We expect more than 400 designers, developers, entrepreneurs, marketeers and bloggers with a passion for WordPress, from the Netherlands and beyond.

Format and guidelines for presentations and workshops.

We’d like to present an engaging and interactive programme. Therefore, we’ve put together 3 formats:

Presentation

A presentation is 40 minutes, including answering questions. Therefore, we advice you to save 10 minutes for questions from the audience.

Lightning talk

A lightning talk is 10 minutes. We would love to see case studies here. What was the problem? How did you solve it? What are key take aways and learnings you’d like to share? At lightning talks, usually there is no room for questions.

Workshop

A workshop takes approximately 1,5 -2 hours. After a very short introduction, people should be able to work by themselves. We’d like to emphasise that workshops are not meant for you to talk all the time. That’s what presentations are for.

What kind of speakers are we looking for?

It doesn’t matter how much experience you have. We think everybody has something to share. We have speaker mentors available for speakers with little or no experience who would love to help you prepare.

We are looking for presentations and workshops that are well presented as a story, take a deeper dive into a specific topic or technique, while keeping the audience engaged. After the conference, we’d like visitors to be enthusiastic about exploring new techniques, company strategies or get (more) involved in the WordPress community.

Application deadline

Please let us know in which language you prefer to present (Dutch, English, both). If you speak both Dutch and English, we choose the language based on the programme. We strive to find a good balance between Dutch and English talks, where the preference will be Dutch.

Feel free to apply more than once if you have multiple ideas. We will choose the application that fits the schedule best. Please only fill out one application per form.

We’d like to receive your application before June 1, June 12, 2022. We will contact all speakers in the week of June 20. For your convenience, we’ve collected all important dates in a timeline. And wait to buy a ticket! All approved speakers will get a free ticket to the event.
