Transport

How do I get to Burgers’ Zoo?

Burgers’ Zoo
Antoon van Hooffplein 1
6816 SH Arnhem

The Safari Meeting Center is right at the heart of the zoo.

Public Transport

The easiest way of reaching Burgers’ Zoo is by public transport. Every 15 minutes busses maked “lijn 3” go from Arnhem central station to the venue. They stop right in front of the door.

Getting to Arnhem Central Station can be done by train. Public transport in the Netherlands is generally excellent and visitors to WordCamp Nederland luckily don’t have to worry about train-strikes anymore.

Car

Burgers’ Zoo has ample parking available next to it’s main entrance. From there it’s a short walk to Safari Meeting Center. There are also handicapped spots available and there are 24 charging stations with a capacity for 48 electric vehicles.

The price for parking is included in your WordCamp ticket.

Bike / motorcycle

Bicycles and motorcycles have a separate parking spot near the entrance.

How much is the parking fee?

The parking fee is included in your WordCamp ticket.

Is WCNL wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Burgers’ Zoo and Safari Meeting Centre are accessible for wheelchairs, although the terrain can be quite hilly.

You can find more information wheelchair accessibility here: https://www.burgerszoo.com/experience-the-zoo/accessibility

I have trouble walking, are there any wheelchairs available?

Burgers’ Zoo has a couple of wheelchairs and scooters for rent. You can rent a scooter for 50 euro (45 of which you get back upon return). A scooter will only be rented out to people of 18 years or older with a medical condition who can’t otherwise visit the part on their own. Because of the terrain, the scooters are suited for people weighing a maximum of 120 kilograms.

There are also regular wheelchairs available for people 6 years or older that you can rent with a 2 euro coin (like a shopping cart).

Both of these options should be reserved in advanced. Please call +31 26 44 24 534 to do so.

Will the talks have live captioning?

The talks in the auditorium room will get live captioning in both english and dutch, depending on which language the talk will be held in.

What about covid?

The dutch government has deemed it safe for us to organize this event with a maximum of 500 people attending. We’ve specifically chosen this venue just so we can go outside easily.

Wearing a mask isn’t mandatory, but masks will be provided throughout the event, as well as hand sanitizer. If you want to be sure that you have a mask at all times, we recommend you bring your own as well. We have a limited supply.
