WordCamp Netherlands rescheduled

We want to inform you about an important change regarding WordCamp Netherlands 2024.

Unfortunately, we are forced to move WCNL from September to November 29 and 30, 2024.

In early February, we started work on WordCamp Netherlands 2024 as a completely new organising team. Despite some setbacks, we continued with great enthusiasm and, in our eager optimism, decided to move forward with the organisation. We have managed to overcome most of the delays and have nearly everything in place to make this edition a success. However, one crucial aspect over which we have little control has now become a major obstacle: the amount of sold tickets.

We need more time to allow people the opportunity to register for the event. Therefore, after consulting with WordCamp Central, we decided that it would be better to move this edition to 29 and 30 November, 2024. With this extra time, we can ensure that the November event will be even better and more inspiring.

We understand that this new date may not work for everyone. You can request a refund via the link in your e-ticket email.

1. Why has WordCamp Netherlands been postponed?

The event has been postponed due to lower than expected ticket sales. In consultation with WordCamp Central, we have decided to reschedule WordCamp Netherlands. This extra time allows us to ensure an even better and more inspiring event in November.

2. What is the new date for the event?

The new date for the event is 29 and 30 November 2024, which is two months later than the originally planned date.

3. Where will the event be held?

The event will still be held in Madurodam.

4. What happens to my ticket?

All tickets purchased for the original date remain valid for the new date. No further action is required on your part.

5. Can I get a refund if I can’t attend on the new date?

Yes, we understand that the new date may not work for everyone. If you cannot attend, you can cancel your ticket via the link in your e-ticket. If you need assistance, please contact us at hallo@wordcamp.nl.

6. Will there be changes to the event program?

The program remains the same, but the postponement gives us the opportunity to add more exciting elements and speakers. The call for speakers is almost closing (as of writing), and we will contact all speakers individually.

7. I have booked travel and accommodation. What should I do?

We recommend contacting your hotel as soon as possible to change or cancel your reservation. Are you unable to cancel? Please get in touch with us through hallo@wordcamp.nl. We are trying to find out who’s affected and hopefully are able to coordinate something.

8. How will I be informed of any further changes?

All updates will be communicated via email to registered attendees and posted on our website and social media channels.
